Lesson in Doughnuts

Here is a cute idea I found today while searching for Bible centered activites to do with my children.  They love sweets, especially doughnuts, so this will be a big hit and a good lesson. I love fun, hands on ways of teaching my children. I also don’t mind the point of this particular lesson either! 🙂

‘O’bey Donuts
Ingredients:
• refrigerated bisquits
• powdered sugar
Directions:
1.  Take a can of refrigerated bisquits
2.  Flatten them out
3.  Cut out a circle in the middle (I use a soda pop bottle top)
4.  Have a skillet ready with hot oil
5.  Fry the bisquits (donuts) in the oil until golden brown
6.  Drain on paper towel
7.  Sprinkle with powdered sugar
Tell the children (or Youth and even Adults!) that we must obey God’s Commandments and God’s rules. The donut represents the letter “O” in obey. Let them know every time they have a donut, they are reminded to OBEY!
8.  “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right” Ephesians 6:1
9.  ” A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day:”
Deuteronomy 11:27
